Ganzhou: Vast Stretches of the'Panda of the Plant World' Found in Remote Mountains

The Chinese yew is often called the "panda of the plant world", a "living fossil,” and"botanical gold." Highly sensitive to its environment, it is listed as a first-class nationally protected plant in China.

In 2022, a wild Chinese yew forest was discovered deep in the mountains of Huichang County, Jiangxi Province. The site is home to more than 3,000 trees, including specimens over 1,200 years old. The presence of this rare plant community reflects the area's well-preserved ecological conditions. 

Recently, reporters paid a visit to this unique site.

南方紅豆杉素有“植物界大熊貓”“植物活化石”“植物黃金”之稱，對生存環(huán)境要求高，是國家一級重點(diǎn)保護(hù)野生植物。

2022年，江西省會昌縣深山中發(fā)現(xiàn)一片野生南方紅豆杉林，共有3000多株，其中最年長的一株樹齡已超1200年。這一珍稀植物群落的存在，是對當(dāng)?shù)貎?yōu)良生態(tài)的天然認(rèn)證。

日前，記者走進(jìn)曾被一代偉人毛澤東贊為“風(fēng)景這邊獨(dú)好”的會昌，遇見這片“獨(dú)好風(fēng)景”。
